Javier Machimbarrena ( Bilbao , 1967 ) , works as a product designer and industrial artist , creating and developing objects and spaces from the ones that are essentialy form to the equipped with a high technological content.
He has collaborated in design projects on vehicles, furniture , products and corporate image and spaces for firms as Audi / VW Design Center Europe, Barcelona Centre de Tecnologies, SEAT, Centro Europeo de Innovación, DZ centro de Diseño, CAF-Euskotren , Fagor, Proiek , ONN Outside, VELATIA, WEC, KLAP laboratorio de creación Industrial, Davalor Salud, Pepsico, Formica Corporation, Hewlett-Packard, y MSX International Automotive .
He has been awarded with prizes as MAIER International Design competition 2011, Basque Crafts by Design 2014, has had products selected by ADI-FAD, and his work has appeared in media as ON Diseño, Architonic, Quatroruote , Arketypo , Diseinuz , Interiors from Spain, Urban Design , etc...
He has been present in exhibitions in Milano, Madrid , Barcelona and other capitals . He has had his products showed in places as are The Balenciaga Museum and the B-awards.
He also has been invited tutor at the Posgraduate Master on Industrial Design at DZ Centro de Diseño Bilbao, Postgraduate Master on Ecodesign at the Engineering University of Bilbao, and imparted conferences on Industrial Design in diverse Universities.
He is co-founder and member of SMOTION, an team of proffesionals dedicated to Advanced Mobility Design created in 2014
At the present moment he has his Consultancy stablished in Bilbao, Spain, and works for clients from different countries.
Javier Machimbarrena also produces objects limited editions in his new experimental project called Industrial Art/ Neoartesania.
